Is Tankless Right for Your Henderson Home?
A tankless heater fires only when you open a hot tap. You get hot water that doesn’t run out and no big tank sitting in the garage keeping water hot all day. The trade-off is a bigger up-front job, and that job usually comes down to three things:
- Gas supply. A whole-home gas tankless unit can need much more gas than a tank heater. A gas line sized for the original tank may need to be upsized. We check the line before we recommend a unit.
- Venting. Tankless units need venting rated for that unit, and the old tank flue usually can’t be reused.
- Hard water. Henderson water is hard, like the rest of the valley. Scale builds up inside a tankless heat exchanger, so regular descaling isn’t optional.
If a tank heater is the better fit for how your household uses hot water, or for your gas and venting setup, we’ll tell you. Sometimes that’s the honest answer.
Sizing It Right
Tankless units are sized by flow (how many fixtures run at once) and by temperature rise (how much the unit has to heat the incoming water). Incoming water is colder in winter, so we size for the cold months. We count the showers, tubs and appliances you run at the same time and choose a unit that keeps up on a winter morning, not just in summer.
What a Tankless Install Includes
- Site check. Gas line size and length, venting route, power for the unit, condensate drain, and where the unit will mount.
- Permit. As a licensed contractor, we pull the permits the job needs.
- Install. Mount the unit, run the gas and venting, add isolation valves for future descaling, add a pressure relief valve and condensate line as required, and remove the old tank.
- Test and walkthrough. Check gas, flow and operation, set the temperature, and show you the shut-offs and the descaling valves.
If you live in a gated community, let us know when you call so the gate can expect us. If the unit will be mounted outside, check whether your HOA has rules about where equipment can go.
Tankless Repair
Common problems we fix on tankless units:
- Error codes, or a unit that shuts off mid-shower
- Lukewarm water, or hot and cold swings
- Low hot-water flow at the taps
- Ignition problems
- Scale-related overheating or flow errors
- Venting or condensate problems
We find the cause first. If a repair doesn’t make sense for the unit, we’ll say so.
Descaling Tankless Water Heaters in Henderson
With Henderson’s hard water, we generally recommend a descaling flush about once a year, or more often if you don’t have a softener. We connect a pump to the isolation valves, circulate a descaling solution through the heat exchanger, flush it, and clean the inlet filter. If your unit was installed without isolation valves, we can add them. A water softener upstream slows the buildup and protects the rest of your plumbing too.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a tankless install take?
A straight swap where the gas and venting are already in place can often be done in a day. When the gas line needs upsizing or new venting has to be run, it takes longer, and any required inspection has to be scheduled. We give you a clear timeline before we start.
Will my gas line need to be upsized?
Often, yes. Many homes were plumbed for a tank heater. We check the line size and length before recommending a unit.
How often should a tankless water heater be descaled here?
About once a year with Henderson’s hard water, or more often without a softener. Scale left in place is one of the most common reasons tankless units have problems.
Can a tankless heater go outside?
Some models are made for outdoor mounting, and that can free up garage space. We check the model, freeze protection and any HOA rules first.
Do you repair tankless units you didn’t install?
Yes. Call us with the problem and any error code, and we’ll take a look.
Do you pull permits?
Yes. We’re licensed, bonded and insured (Nevada contractor license 0095727, C-1D Plumbing) and pull the permits the job needs.
