Downtown, the Arts District, John S. Park, Huntridge, Rancho Circle and the Scotch 80s hold some of the oldest homes in the valley, many built from the 1930s through the 1950s. Homes from that era often have galvanized steel water lines that rust from the inside until pressure drops and the water runs brown, and cast iron drains and sewer lines that can crack or let tree roots in. When galvanized pipe is failing throughout a house, a whole-house PEX repipe restores pressure and replaces pipe at the end of its life. We repipe in PEX only. Old shut-off valves are often the weak link in an emergency, so know where your main is and turn it slowly.
The northwest valley is still filling in, from newer tract homes to large-lot properties with half-acre lots. Most homes get Las Vegas Valley Water District water, which is hard, about 17 to 25 grains per gallon. Some older large-lot properties were built with individual wells or septic systems. If yours is one, mention it when you call, because well water can be quite different from city water. Homes from the late 1990s and early 2000s may have Kitec pipe, which is orange and blue and marked Kitec or PlumbBetter, or has brass fittings stamped “KTC.” If we find it, we replace the fittings and all of the pipe at once, using PEX. The northwest is a long way from much of the valley, but we answer 24/7 at 702-577-5505.
