North Las Vegas is its own city, incorporated in 1946, and its housing tells that story. Neighborhoods near the city’s original core and Nellis Air Force Base include homes from the postwar decades. Pardee Homes opened Eldorado in 1990, with just under 5,000 homes. Aliante came next, opening in 2003 with homes by D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee and Pulte, along with Del Webb’s Sun City Aliante for residents 55 and older. A house in the older part of town and a house in Aliante have almost nothing in common behind the walls, and we plumb both.
Las Vegas Water Experts is a family owned and operated plumbing company based in Henderson. Our small family team does the work ourselves, led by owner Jason Miller. Jason has more than 24 years of plumbing experience, and we’re licensed (NV LIC# 0095727), bonded, insured and available 24/7.
North Las Vegas Water and Sewer
Unlike most of the valley, North Las Vegas runs its own water and wastewater utility. If you’re inside city limits, your bill comes from City of North Las Vegas Utilities, not the Las Vegas Valley Water District. The water itself is still Colorado River water, and it’s hard: 17 to 25 grains per gallon, about 22 typical. If a leak shows up at the meter box or in the street, call the city utility. If it’s on the house side of the meter, that’s a job for a plumber, and we can help you figure out which side it’s on.
24/7 Emergency Plumbing
A burst supply line, a leaking water heater or a sewer backup won’t wait for business hours, and neither do we. Shut off the main valve first. It’s usually in the garage or on the front wall where the line enters the house, and in some older homes it’s only at the meter box by the curb. Then call 702-577-5505. Our 24/7 emergency service page covers what to do while you wait.
Older Homes vs. Newer Builds
In the older neighborhoods, we look for galvanized steel water lines that have rusted from the inside, aging cast iron drains, worn-out shut-off valves and water heaters squeezed into closets that don’t meet today’s venting and safety rules. Eldorado’s first homes went up around 1990, near the end of the period when gray polybutylene supply pipe was used in many U.S. homes, so it’s worth checking for pipe stamped PB2110. In Aliante, homes from the 2000s are now at the age when original water heaters, valves and supply lines start to fail.
Homes built in the valley from the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s are also worth checking for Kitec, a plastic-and-aluminum pipe with brass fittings that led to a Clark County class action and 2009 settlements. Look for orange and blue pipe marked Kitec or PlumbBetter, or fittings stamped “KTC.” If it is Kitec, we replace the fittings and all of the pipe at once, using PEX. We’re plumbers, not lawyers, so we can’t advise on settlement claims.
Leak Detection, Slab Leaks and PEX Repipes
Most North Las Vegas homes are built on concrete slabs. A warm spot on the floor, a water bill that jumps, the sound of running water with every fixture off, or a meter that keeps spinning are all signs of a hidden leak. We pinpoint it before opening anything, then explain your choices: a spot repair, a reroute or a whole-house repipe. Read more about slab leak signs in Las Vegas. Our repipes are PEX only. We don’t do copper repipes.
Water Heaters, Tank and Tankless
We repair and replace gas and electric tank water heaters and tankless units, including flushing and descaling. Hard water shortens tank life, and tankless heaters need regular descaling to keep running. If yours pops and rumbles, gives rusty hot water or leaves a puddle, call. See water heater flushing in Las Vegas for maintenance tips.
Water Softeners, Faucets and Angle Stops
A water softener is the best defense against the scale that crusts faucets and wears out valves. We install and service softeners and reverse osmosis drinking water systems. Our Las Vegas hard water guide explains how to choose one. We also replace leaking faucets and toilets, and the angle stops under sinks and toilets that seize up over time. See angle stop replacement in Las Vegas.
Drain Cleaning and Hydro Jetting
We clear kitchen, bath and main sewer lines. For a one-time clog, snaking usually does the job. For grease buildup, scale or roots that keep coming back, hydro jetting cleans the pipe wall itself. We’ll recommend the one your line needs. Compare them in hydro jetting vs. snaking.
Gas Lines
We install and repair gas lines for ranges, dryers, water heaters, fireplaces, barbecues and fire pits, and we pressure-test every line before it goes back in service. If you smell gas, leave the house and call Southwest Gas or 911 from outside.
We work on existing homes, not new construction.
Permits in North Las Vegas
North Las Vegas issues its own building permits through the city’s Building Safety Division, separate from Clark County. Water heater replacements, softener installs, repipes, gas line extensions and main water line repairs generally need a permit. As a licensed contractor, we pull the permits our work requires. Aliante, Sun City Aliante and Eldorado have HOAs, so check yours before exterior work.
We serve the whole valley, from Summerlin to Anthem in Henderson.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who do I call about a leak at my water meter in North Las Vegas?
If the leak is at the meter or on the street side, contact City of North Las Vegas Utilities. If it’s between the meter and your house, or inside, call us at 702-577-5505.
My home is in an older part of North Las Vegas. Should I worry about my pipes?
It depends on what’s in the walls. Galvanized steel lines rust from the inside and lose pressure over time. We can look at your visible pipe and tell you whether a repair or a PEX repipe makes more sense.
Is my Aliante water heater due for replacement?
If it’s the original tank from the 2000s, it’s past typical tank life in our hard water. Have it checked before it leaks.
Do you serve Sun City Aliante?
Yes, along with the rest of Aliante, Eldorado and North Las Vegas. If your community has a gate, tell us when you call.
