The east side has some of the valley’s oldest suburbs. Whitney began in 1931 along Boulder Highway and was known as East Las Vegas for decades. Paradise became an unincorporated town in 1950, its Paradise Village tracts were finished by the mid-1950s, and Paradise Palms started in 1960 with mid-century modern homes that Clark County now protects as a historic neighborhood. Sunrise Manor, at the foot of Frenchman Mountain, formed in 1957 and today has more than 200,000 residents, in homes built largely from the 1970s through the 2000s with older pockets mixed in. These are solid, well-lived-in houses, and their plumbing has put in a lot of years.
Las Vegas Water Experts is a family owned and operated plumbing company based in Henderson. Our small family team does the work ourselves, led by owner Jason Miller. Jason has more than 24 years of plumbing experience, and we’re licensed (NV LIC# 0095727), bonded, insured and available 24/7.
Which Utility Serves You?
Most east side homes get water from the Las Vegas Valley Water District. Some Sunrise Manor addresses near the North Las Vegas line are served by City of North Las Vegas Utilities instead, so check your bill if you need to report a meter or street-side leak. Either way the water comes from Lake Mead, and it’s hard: 17 to 25 grains per gallon, about 22 typical.
Emergency Plumbing
When a line bursts or a water heater leaks, shut off the main valve, usually in the garage or where the line enters the house, and call 702-577-5505, any time. If your main is an old valve that won’t budge, don’t force it. Call and we’ll talk you through the next step. Our 24/7 emergency service page covers what to do while you wait.
Pipe by Decade
What’s in your walls depends on when your home was built. Homes from the 1950s and ’60s, like many in Paradise and Whitney, may still have galvanized steel water lines that rust from the inside, plus cast iron drains. Homes from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s may have gray polybutylene supply pipe, often stamped PB2110, which tends to fail at the fittings. Homes from the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s fall into the years Kitec was sold. Look for orange and blue pipe marked Kitec or PlumbBetter, or fittings stamped “KTC.” We’ll look at the exposed pipe at your water heater and under your sinks and tell you what you have.
Leak Detection, Slab Leaks and PEX Repipes
Most east side homes are on concrete slabs. A warm floor, a water bill that jumps or running water you can hear with everything off all point to a hidden leak. We pinpoint it first, then explain your choices: a repair, a reroute or a whole-house repipe. Read about slab leak signs in Las Vegas. When old galvanized or polybutylene pipe keeps failing, a repipe is usually the lasting fix. We repipe in PEX only. We don’t do copper repipes, and when we repipe a Kitec home, we replace the fittings and all of the pipe at once.
Water Heaters: Tank and Tankless
We repair and replace gas and electric tank water heaters and tankless units, and we flush and descale them. In older homes, a replacement may also need venting, strapping or gas connector updates to meet current code. See water heater flushing in Las Vegas.
Softeners and Drinking Water
A water softener cuts down the scale that wears out faucets, valves and water heaters. We install and service softeners and reverse osmosis drinking water systems. Our Las Vegas hard water guide explains how to choose one.
Faucets, Toilets and Angle Stops
We fix and replace leaking faucets and toilets, and the angle stops under sinks and toilets. After decades of hard water those valves seize, and an old one can snap when you finally turn it. See angle stop replacement in Las Vegas.
Drain Cleaning and Hydro Jetting
Older cast iron drains build up scale inside, and kitchen lines collect grease over the years. Snaking clears a single clog. Hydro jetting cleans the pipe wall and is usually better for lines that keep backing up, as long as the pipe is in good enough shape. Compare them in hydro jetting vs. snaking.
Gas Lines
We install and repair gas lines for ranges, dryers, water heaters, fireplaces, barbecues and fire pits, with a pressure test on every line. Older homes can have appliance connectors that are past due for replacement. If you smell gas, leave the house and call Southwest Gas or 911 from outside.
We work on existing homes, not new construction.
Permits on the East Side
Sunrise Manor, Whitney and Paradise are unincorporated, so permits come from the Clark County Department of Building & Fire Prevention. A few east side addresses are inside the City of Las Vegas instead. Water heater replacements, gas work and most concealed-pipe repairs need a permit, and as a licensed contractor, we pull the permits our work requires.
We serve the whole valley, from Summerlin to Anthem in Henderson.

Frequently Asked Questions
My water bill is from North Las Vegas, but I live in Sunrise Manor. Is that right?
It can be. Parts of Sunrise Manor are in the City of North Las Vegas water service area. Contact the utility on your bill for meter or street-side issues, and call us for anything on the house side.
How do I know if my home has galvanized pipe?
Look at the pipe at your water heater or main shutoff. Galvanized is gray metal with threaded fittings. Low pressure and brownish water are common signs it’s wearing out.
Do you work on mid-century homes in Paradise Palms?
Yes. We work on older homes across Paradise, Whitney and Sunrise Manor.
Is it worth repairing old pipe, or should I repipe?
If leaks are isolated and the pipe is otherwise sound, a repair can make sense. If the pipe is galvanized or polybutylene and failing in several places, a PEX repipe is usually the better value.
